The first department to start functioning at MIMS, and one of the flagship departments of the hospital, the Institute of ENT and Head & Neck surgery is the first comprehensive otolaryngology program in Kerala, offering the entire range of ENT services under one roof. Staffed by highly trained ENT surgeons, audiologists and auditory verbal therapists, the Institute provides state-of-the-art treatment for all ENT, head and neck and audiological problems. Utilizing the latest equipments and diagnostic methods, it has served as a benchmark for many departments throughout the country. It was also the first centre in Kerala to perform Cochlear implantation, in 2002. The department also has a full time resident DNB Programme for postgraduate training.
